Leon Creek Greenery: Buddy
Calk Trail
The high point of this hike is enjoying the wildlife around the edge of the Earl Scott Pond. Birds can be
heard in the creek valley and heavy woods. This is one of the new linear trails along the Leon Creek
Greenery. It was opened in 2009 as part of the Linear Creekway program. It is wheelchair and stroller
accessible.
Distance: 2.2-mile out-and-back
Approximate hiking time: 1.25 hour
Difficulty: Easy due to flat paved surface
Trail surface: Concrete, asphalt
Best seasons: Sept through June
Other trail users: Bikers, joggers, dog walkers
Canine compatibility: Leashed dogs permitted

Finding the trailhead: From northwest San Antonio, take I-410 west to the Babcock
Road exit. Exit and follow Babcock Road 6.5 miles north to 12160 Babcock Rd. Turn
