( See color insert. ) The in vivo bone formation was assessed by (a) H&E for (b) PLGA micro-
spheres, (c, d) for amorphous CaSiO 3 /PLGA microspheres, and (e, f) for crystal CaSiO 3 /PLGA
microspheres. Panels (a), (c), and (e) are low magnification images by 4 times; (b), (d), and (f) are

bioactive ceramics could significantly enhance the functional activity of
cells. They separated PRP and FG on bioactive ceramics like HAp and silica-
coated HAp (HApSi), on which gBMSCs were seeded and induced to dif-
ferentiate into the osteogenic lineage for 28 days. The results of this study
have depicted that FG-coated ceramics were better than PRP-coated and bare
matrices. Among all, the excellent performance was shown by FG coated
HApSi, which may be attributed to the communal action of the stimulus
emanated by Si in HApSi and the temporary extracellular matrix provided
by FG over HApSi (Nair et al. 2009). Toskas et al. (2011) showed a ceramic
