When you edit a swatch you created, if you want that edit to apply to other objects with
that swatch color, they need to be selected. Otherwise, editing the swatch will not
update the colored objects.
Creating and editing a global swatch
Next, you will create a color and make it a global color . When you edit a global color, all
artwork with that swatch applied, regardless of whether it's selected, is updated.
1. With the Selection tool ( ), click to select the white bar above the orange bar.
2. In the Swatches panel, click the New Swatch button ( ) at the bottom of the panel. In
the Swatch Options dialog box, change the following options and then click OK:
• Swatch Name: forest green
• Global: Selected
• Change the CMYK values to C= 91 , M= 49 , Y= 49 , K= 0
