Marks on the PCB board critical for the automated assembly equipment; a refer-
ence point to orient the robotic part placement device in regard to the circuit board.
firmware
Software that runs on hardware other than general-purpose computing plat-
forms such as personal computers, tablets, or phones. This term is a double entendre refer-
ring to the mixing of software running on hardware (i.e., soft + hard = firm).
fork
The point at which a developer or set of developers starts developing with a copy of
the code.

ganged programmer
A programming platform created to program many devices at once.
Gerbers
Board fabrication files that describe the layout of board layers in a vector format.

housed board
A PCB board within an enclosure.

Import DXF Polygons
An Eagle user language program that generates a board outline
directly in Eagle given a DXF file.
IPC standards
Standards developed by Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Cir-
cuits, the dominant accrediting organization within the electronics manufacturing industry.

A collection of parts that are assembled by the end user to create a product.

layout review
The process of reviewing the layout of your design with your peers.

Permission to do something, usually conditioned on some sort of behavior or ac-
