Thanks to the program it is possible to create a custom dashboard to control
or monitor any Labview application remotely. The program makes it possible
to access data using secure web services, read and write to network published
shared variables, and share dashboards with others users from handheld devices.
Wireless control application in Labview can carried out in many different
ways. Each of the described tools is to have its drawbacks and advantages and
the authors did not find the golden mean. The final effect was such that one was
able to control the robot using a handheld device (tablet computer or smartphone
in tests).
3 Conclusions
Contemporary industrial factories are very often intelligent enterprises. The
handheld devices or simply handhelds are very common in everyday life. Thanks
to their flexibility the solutions are a standard that does not require many ad-
justment activities to be implemented in different wireless devices. Due to their
advantages handhelds are a promising alternative control, programming and
monitoring solution for industry. The use of handheld in the control of an in-
dustrial robot is still a modern and innovative attitude on the problem. Tested
application for remote control system of industrial robot can be put into use
both in educational and practical industry implementation. Wireless character
of the solution makes the handhelds become more flexible and increase the reach
of control.
