INTEGRATING TOOLS FOR SURFACE WATER QUALITY
MANAGEMENT
This chapter focuses on the main used tools in this research study. It gives a general overview of the
different tools used in building the water quality management information system. It highlights the
importance of monitoring and data acquisition techniques then it explains the different types of
hydrodynamic and water quality models. The importance of remote sensing as a tool for water quality
analysis and management is also shown. The chapter highlights the role of information systems in
water quality management and the use of decision support systems in the management process. It
highlights the different uncertainties associated with the decision support tools and their uses in water
quality management.
