In-Depth Information
For these sampling locations, data were collected from the year 2001 up to 2006 on monthly basis; the
preliminary analysis for these data sets was carried statistically to show the seasonal and spatial trends
at different locations within the drainage catchment. Figure (5-20) the grouping of the measuring
location within the catchment area according to sub-drainage catchments. The monthly data shows
seasonal variation for the different measured parameters.
Upstream Zone Edko Drain
This zone receives drainage water from four pumping stations including domestic, agricultural and
industrial wastewater according to the different land use activities in this area. This zone receives 37%
of the drainage water entering the Lake from Edko drain.
Downstream Zone Edko Drain
This zone receives mainly agricultural drainage water and domestic waste water from three pumping
stations, and it receives 63% of the total drainage water entering the Lake from Edko drain
Barseek Zone
Barseek zone includes one pumping station that receives drainage water from southern part of the lake
this zone is most associated with drainage water from fish farms and agricultural areas.

The following section gives an over view of the concentration of some main parameters at the
different catchment zones.
