Sleeping
With the exception of a single yurt, there are no accommodations on the valley floor (the
longstanding tree house has closed). However, there are several options in Kukuihaele,
the residential community on the rim, including some cliffside properties with spectacu-
lar views.

ley. Suitably unique, it offers a kitchen with propane fridge and gas stove, and, amaz-
ingly, a hot shower. The bed sleeps two but its kitchen/living area can accommodate oth-
ers. A rare opportunity to indulge your inner (or outer) hippie.

top floor with full kitchen and large living spaces (rented as the Alegre Plantation Cot-
tage) and three private rooms on the lower level (the hostel) with shared bath and a
choice of beds. It's in a residential neighborhood, but has sea views out back and a rock-
bottom price.
