The Repoussé Dialog Box
After reviewing the resources that we can use to create the Repoussé 3D
content, let's discuss the Repoussé dialog box and see some examples of
how to use it. The Repoussé dialog box consists of eight parts, discussed in
the following subsections.
The Navigation Tools
These tools let you navigate through the object by rotating, scaling, rolling,
panning, and resetting the object to the original position.
Repoussé Shape Presets
In my opinion, the Presets section is the easiest way to see the many
capabilities you can get from the Repoussé feature. The presets show
existing styles that you can use directly without the need to edit any of the
values in the Repoussé dialog box.
The Repoussé presets include 18 diferent presets, as you can see in Figure
7.6. You can also create and save your own presets if you want to use the
same parameters later for diferent objects.
At the top right of the Presets section, the presets context menu gives you
more options for the Presets section, including the following commonly
used ones:
• New Repoussé Preset: Saves your custom Repoussé setting as a preset for
later use.
• Rename Repoussé Preset: Renames an existing preset.
• Delete Repoussé Preset: Removes the preset from the Presets section.
• Delete All Repoussé Presets: Removes all the presets from the Presets
Preview section.
Reset Repoussé Presets: Returns to the default presets.
Load Repoussé Presets: Loads presets. The Repoussé presets are saved in
P3E format.
Save Repoussé Presets: Saves current presets in an external P3E presets
ile.
Replace Repoussé Presets: Replaces the current presets with another
presets ile.
You can apply any of the presets by clicking on it; it will be applied directly
to the 3D object. It provides an easy way to preview each of the presets.
When you select any of the default presets, its values automatically appear in
each section's values. So you are free to edit these values and save your
customized settings as a new preset.
