Big Rep : Big Rep is a German startup founded in 2014. The Big Rep One is an, FDM
printer with a really big build size: 1147 mm x 1000 mm x 1188 mm.
Blueprinter : Blueprinter is a Danish producer of 3D printers which uses its own Selective
Heat Sintering (SHS) technique for printing in plastic. SHS is similar to Selective Laser
Sintering but uses a thermal printhead instead of laser according to Blueprinter. The com-
pany was started in 2009 and their first printer was marketed a couple of years later. The
printer was initially priced around 10 000 euro, mainly aiming for small and middle sized
companies.

Concept Laser : Concept Laser is a German company that produces metal 3D printers us-
ing the Selective Laser Melting (SLM) technology with their own process branded Laser-
Cusing. Concept Laser employs around 50 people and applications are focused on automot-
ive, aerospace, jewelry and dental & medical. NASA has used Concept Laser's M2 printer
for production of parts for their space rockets.
Cel Technology : Cel is another Kickstarter founded company started in 2012. The com-
pany is UK based but one of the founders is from Hong Kong and they also have an office
there. Cel's Robox FDM machine promises better resolution than its other low-cost con-
sumer oriented competitors. The Robox comes with a dual-nozzle, one smaller for finer
details and one bigger for filling.

DFRobot : DFRobot is a Chinese company which is somewhat associated to China's bud-
ding maker community. They are behind the low-cost FDM Dreammaker printers, which
come in both Cartesian and Delta versions.
DM3D Technology : This American company was formerly known as POM and has deve-
loped a technology called Direct Metal Deposition (DMD). The DMD process is similar to
Laser Engineered Net Shaping (LENS) where metal powder is deposited by gas into a laser
beam that melts the powder and adds layers according to the cad-drawing. It can be used
for manufacturing but is especially suitable for repair of metal parts.
DWS : Italian Digital Wax Systems was founded in 2007 and produces Stereolithography
and DLP 3D printers. DWS focus on customers in the jewelry business, and also in dental
and other industries. DWS offers 17 industrial models and also a Stereolithography printer
for the “prosumer” market: the Xfab, which was launched at the beginning of 2014.
