3D printing services
Citim : Citim is one of the leading German 3D printing service bureaus. They have two ma-
chines from EOS and three from SLM Solutions for metal 3D printing. Citim also offers
prototyping and small batch productions in plastic etc. through Polyjet and traditional man-
ufacturing. Citim has a subsidiary in Kennesaw, Georgia, USA.
CRP Technology : This Italian 3D printing service provider was founded in 1996. CRP has
developed an own line of material called “Windform” which varieties such as carbon or
glass fiber reinforced nylon. CRP produces prototypes and small batch products such as
Italian motorbikes etc.
FKM : FKM is a German service provider specialized in laser sintering 3D printing. The
company was founded in 1994. FKM has a cooperation with EOS and is mainly equipped
with EOS printers. FKM's main area is 3D printed plastics, but they also prints in metal.
Layerwise : Belgian Layerwise, a spin-off from University of Leuven was founded in 2008.
Layerwise offer 3D printing services working exclusively with metals. The services are dir-
ected at industrial clients within industry, medical, dental and high-tech mechatronics (com-
bination of mechanics and electronics). Layerwise has subsidiaries in Germany and USA
and employs over 50 people. Layerwise was acquired by 3D Systems in the fall of 2014.
Poly-Shape : Poly-Shape is a French service bureau that is strong in metal 3D printing and
direct manufacturing. Poly-Shape has customers in the French aerospace industry.
Ponoko : Ponoko is a rather small New Zealand based company with an interesting basic
business idea: a software platform branded “Personal Factory” where owners of 3D printers,
laser cutters etc. are organized in a manufacturing network. Customers or designers can
choose to order from readymade designs or from their own and have them manufactured in
a manufacture-on-demand fashion.
Quickparts : This is 3D Systems own 3D printing service bureau offering prototyping and
short run series of production. Quickparts also offer injection molding. General Electric,
Ballard, Aegis, Husqvarna etc. are among their customers. Quickparts accounts for around

Redeye : Redeye is a 3D printing service bureau that was launched by Stratasys in 2005. The
equipment is, as one can expect, exclusively supplied by Stratasys. Redeye claims to be one
of the world's largest 3D printing service bureaus.
