Feedback
The organizational feedback is also relative to the reporting level (governance, man-
agement, or operations). Executives focus on the bottom line and look to affect balance
sheet and income statement line items with investments in compliance management,
as well as awareness and training to achieve organizational compliance. Management
focuses on performance and wants to measure personnel carrying out strategic plans
and meeting tactical objectives. In this example, the organizational goals include
awareness and understanding of how to be compliant with SOX. Operations' focus is
on the tactical execution of making employees aware and understand in a cost-effec-
tive manner. Lessons for operations include determining the effectiveness of e-mail
and Web-based training versus some other method.
So, what is the focus for improvement? Well, that depends on what the objective
is. Moreover, it depends on what you really find during the IAQP and during the
discovery and analysis process.
Lastly, review the details of the IAQP with respect to final results and consider
ways to improve the IAQP itself.
