Main house is the oldest surviving wooden fort building in New England
(1754). Museum offices in the adjacent City Hall.

Samantha Smith Statue , in front of the Cultural Building, State
House Complex, State Street. Honors young girls from Maine who helped
create an atmosphere of peace with the Soviet Union.
State Capitol Building (1829), State Street. Constructed of native
granite, the building's portico and front façade with its towering arcade is
an example of the work of noted American architect Charles Bullfinch.
Building underwent major renovation in Fall of 1998. Maine battle flags,
portraits of former Maine Governors. Maine Law Library, Legislative
Chambers, and Office of the Governor.

Bangor
Bangor Historical Society Museum , including Thomas A. Hill House
(1834), 159 Union Street. Greek Revival home, designed by Richard
Upjohn.

Cole Land Transportation Museum , 405 Perry Road. Private collec-
tion open to the public featuring cars, trucks, boats and an entire BL2
Bangor and Aroostook locomotive. Large collection of early snow removal
equipment. Other exhibits include fire truck, blacksmith shop. Thou-
