Using the Select Menu Commands with Selections
The menu bar of the Photo Editor has a Select menu that lets you further manipulate your
selections. The Select menu commands can be used in conjunction with the Quick Selection
tool. Choose Select from the menu bar and then choose a Select menu command. A com-
mon technique is to invert a selection. For example, if you have the image of a person that
you want to cut out of one photo and then add this person to another photo, you can do this.
You'll find that selecting certain objects or areas in a photo might be difficult due to it hav-
ing many edges, such as trying to select around a person's hair. Many times it is easier to
select the background that surrounds the object first, and then invert the selection so that it
flips and surrounds the object. To do this, choose Inverse from the Select menu.
