5. Click the Threshold sliders and adjust the threshold for maintaining the aspect ra-
tios of the Protected areas of your image. You can also click in the Threshold fields
and type a number.
6. Click and drag to paint over areas you want to protect in the recomposing process.
7. Click the Erase Highlights Marked for Protection to erase any or parts of an area
marked for protection.
8. Click and drag through any green highlighted Marked for Protection areas to erase
them.
9. Click the Mark for Removal option.
10. Click and drag over the areas in the image that you want to remove in the recom-
posing process.
11. Click the Erase Highlights Marked for Removal to remove areas marked for re-
moval.
12. Click and drag through any red highlighted areas to erase them.
13. To initiate the recompose process, you need to set the image size. You can do this
through one of the following:
• If you want to recompose the image based on the original image aspect ratio,
click the Recompose Image Based on Aspect Ratios menu and choose a preset
ratio. Keep the menu set to the default of No Restrictions and click in the Width
and Height fields and type numbers.
