Most of the forums provide for accumulating reputation or karma points, as well as fun badges for
different forms of participation. You can earn points for both good questions and good answers.
Answer questions when you can, even if you don't feel like an expert. Being able to communicate a
solution in an understandable fashion not only gives you warm fuzzies for helping someone else, but
also solidifies the concept in your mind and serves as a confidence builder.
Stack Exchange is a huge developer resource that contains a number of categories of forums.
GameDev , found at http://gamedev.stackexchange.com , is, as you might guess, for game
developers. StackOverflow , at http://stackoverflow.com , is geared more toward pure
programming questions that might be helpful for questions regarding coding for the target platform
of your game.
The GameDev Stack and Stack Overflow sites also have a direct question-and-answer
community-rated format (Figure 13-3 ).
