Turning on iCloud backup in iTunes on your computer
Manually back up to iTunes
Even if you have iCloud Backup turned on, you can still manually back up your device to your
computer using iTunes to have a backup available on your computer.
From iTunes on your computer:
1. Either connect your iOS device via a USB cable to your computer or ensure that the device is on the same network as your
computer.
2. Your device's name will appear on a button at the top right of the window, next to the Store button. Click your device's
name to continue. If you have multiple iOS devices, the Devices button appears instead; click it to open a pop-over listing
your devices, then choose the one you want to back up.
3. A screen with your device's information and storage capacity is shown. Click the Back Up Now button to begin the backup.
4. Click the Done button when finished.
TIP: If you click Sync instead of Back Up Now, you'll still back up your iOS device to iTunes. But
you'll also transfer anything new in iTunes on your computer to that iOS device.
From your iOS device:
1. Make sure that your iOS device is connected to the same network as your computer and iTunes is running on that com-
puter.
2. Launch the Settings app.
3. Go to the General pane.
4. Tap iTunes Wi-Fi Sync.
