5. Tap Sync Now; if the option is grayed out, that means your iOS device and/or computer are not on the right network or
that iTunes is not running on your computer.
Manage iCloud storage
Every iCloud user gets 5GB of free storage in iCloud, shared across all their devices. That 5GB
limit does not include content you purchased from the iTunes Store nor the first 10,000 photos saved
in your Photo Stream. The rest of your iCloud backups, as well as iCloud e-mail messages, apps' con-
tents, and documents synced via iCloud Documents do count against that limit.
You can buy more iCloud storage from your iOS device: Go to the iCloud pane in the Settings
app, tap Storage & Backup, tap Change Storage Plan, and choose how much storage you want. Cur-
rently, Apple charges $20 per year for an extra 10GB (so you get 15GB altogether), $40 for an addi-
tional 20GB, and $100 for an additional 50GB. Each year, Apple will charge your iCloud storage
plan's cost from your iTunes Store account, until you change the storage amount.
As Figure 8-3 shows, you can see how much storage you've used in iCloud. In the Settings app's
iCloud pane, tap Storage & Backup, and then tap Manage Storage. In the Manage Storage pane that
appears, you'll see a list of iOS devices' backups as well as the amount of data used by various apps on
your current iOS device and used by your iCloud e-mail account. Tap an iOS device's name to open
the Info pane that displays the backup storage used by that device.
