Send Photos via E-mail on an iOS Device
For a more “old school” way of sending photos with iCloud, you can always use good old e-mail.
There are several ways to send a picture in an e-mail: You can create the e-mail first and then insert
the picture into the e-mail by tapping and holding in the text and choosing Insert Photo or Video
from the contextual menu that appears (a new capability in iOS 6), or you can choose the Mail option
from the Share pop-over when viewing a picture or a group of pictures in the Photos app.
As long as you have a decent connection to a Wi-Fi or cellular data network, sending photos by e-
mail is a quick and convenient method. Here are the easiest ways to share your pictures over e-mail.
To sending pictures via e-mail from the Photos app:
1. Select the album or Photo Stream that contains the photos you want to share.
2. Tap the Edit button and then tap each photo you want to share. A check mark will appear on
all the selected photos. Note that if you select more than four, you won't be able to send
them via e-mail, so if you have more than four photos to e-mail, you'll need to send the in
batches.
3. Tap the Share button ( ) and choose Mail in the pop-over that appears.
4. The Mail app will appear with a new e-mail message, with the photos attached. Specify the
recipients in the To field, type a subject, and add to the message body any other text you
want.
5. Tap the Send button.
To add photos to an e-mail message you are composing in Mail:
1. Tap and hold in the message body to display the contextual menu.
2. Tap the Insert Photo or Video option (see Figure 5-13). On an iPhone or iPod Touch, you
may have to scroll through the contextual menu by tapping the arrow buttons to see this op-
tion.
3. Select the photos you want to add to the e-mail and tap the Choose button.
4. When you're ready to send the e-mail, tap Send in Mail.
