was observed with this nano-carrier (Lima et al. 2013). Recently, SLN were used
to deliver Meso-(tetrahydroxyphenyl) chlorin ( m THPC) effectively in the can-
cer cells and photocytotoxicity of this complex ( m THPC-SLN) was evaluated on
MCF-7 cells under irradiation at 652 nm (Navarro et al. 2014).
6.4 SLN for Cancer Imaging
Exploring better diagnostic techniques is equally important as the development
of effective therapeutic approaches for cancer so as to detect it in its earlier stages
leading to a reduction in rate of mortality. The success of any therapeutic proce-
dure and patient's health improvement depends upon the extent of spread of tumour
