diaphragm has a length of 50 ft and a depth of 15 ft. The aspect ratio of the transfer
diaphragm is 3.33 : 1, which requires it to be blocked, in accordance with NAF&PA
SDPWS 1 Table 4.2.4. Transverse collectors are placed along the entire depth of the
main diaphragm at grid lines 1, 2, 3, and 4 to act as chord members for the transfer
diaphragm. The sign convention for the diaphragm sheathing elements is shown at
the lower right of the figure.
