In-Depth Information
The men have immense potential to reorganize the natural set-up for
self-contentment. However, the integrated efforts may lead to a concrete
solution to discover such impacts. The present day speedy technologi-
cal revolution is alarming. The ill-human treatments during past are the
consequences of what we see today. Human interference is not confined
to any closed terrestrial system. Major human activities result into major
consequences as given below:
1. Deforestation, mining, erosion, landslide and bare lands devoid of
vegetation.
2. Petroleum, coal and wood fuel burning with gas emission.
3. Shrinkage of natural landforms with nonfarming activities.
4. Loss of biodiversity through hunting, weeding and similar acts of
eradication.
5. Nuclear contamination caused by human interferences.
6. Rapidly increasing human population and ill-techniques developed
in selfishness.
7. Industrial products like CFC through technological up-gradation/
generation.
8. Decay of organic residues, garbage, etc. dumped interferences
without recycling.
9. Electronic networking and war in hand damaging the natural sta-
bility.
10. Use of fertilizers, chemicals, insecticides in excess causing toxic-
ity/pollution.
11. Large area under rice cultivation causing CH 4 emission.
12. Ill-human habits to contaminate/toxicate/pollute different food-
stuff.
8.2.6 PEDOGENIC SPECTRUM
The land being the upper most surface of the earth's lithosphere is the low-
est boundary of the earth's atmosphere. It is a sink for all types of incom-
ing radiation, dumped organic residues, sequestering of almost all emitted
green house gases, water, microbes and disposed materials. Human inter-
ferences are natural with soils. In particular, carbon may be sequestered in
soil and carbon dioxide emission may be restricted through soil and soil
water as under:
