This visual identity has also been adapted and applied to the advertising communic-
ations produced by The Guardian and to the apps created for the iPhone and, more
recently, the iPad (launched in October 2011). The designs for each platform require
careful consideration. What is possible? What are the limitations? How do people use
their iPhone to receive news and information and is that different to the way an iPad
is used? Andy Brockie from The Guardian 's digital design team offers some insights
into the process of designing The Guardian 's app for the iPad.
