Several lowercase letter 'i's to distinguish between sans serif, serif, slab serif, roman, italic and
script.
Serif: A small stroke at the end of a main vertical or horizontal stroke. Also used as
a classification for typefaces that contain such decorative rounded or pointed square
finishing strokes.
Slab serif: A font with heavy, squared finishing strokes, low contrast and few curves.
Stem: The main vertical or diagonal stroke of a letter.
Stroke: The diagonal portion of letterforms such as N, M and Y. Stems, bars, arms
and bowl are collectively referred to as strokes.
Tracking: The adjustment of the overall amount of space between letters of a word,
across a line or whole block of text (not to be confused with kerning, which involves
the adjustment of the space between individual letters).
