6. Right-click the report in Documents and click on Manage Data Alerts in

the drop-down list. The Data Manager window opens as shown in the
following screenshot:

Notice that the TestJetShipping alert created earlier has appeared in the list of
Data Alerts in Data Alert Manager . It shows the creator of the alert (the owner) and
the name of the report in the drop-down list ( View alerts for report: ). The listing also
shows Sent Alerts , Last Run , Last Modified, , and Status . Notice an earlier data alert
named TestSP , which ran successfully but no alert was sent (some text truncated in
the image).

The Data Alerts you send end up in the SQL Server Agent on the Report Server as
shown in the next screenshot where you could pursue how the agent performs and
other details. You may need a good knowledge of SQL Agent to pursue further.
It is recommended that you do not modify the SQL Server Agent job of the alert.

Editing Data Alerts
If you need to change the alert for any reason, perhaps you want to use a different
SMTP server, add a few more people to the e-mail recipient list, and so on, you can
edit the alert as well. It is very easy to edit.
