The starting point for the chapter is after the setting up of the SQL Server Reporting
Services service in SP's Central Administration (CA) shown in the next screenshot.
For the purposes of this chapter, a SQL Server 2012 instance NJ has been set up with
its Reporting Services set up in SP integrated mode.
The SharePoint Server 2010 (Evaluation edition) was installed and configured on
Windows 7 as described in Chapter 1 , Overview and Installation - SQL Server Reporting
Services 2012 . In order to use this server for Reporting Services, you need to configure
a SQL Server Reporting Services service. Additionally, you may install a site you use
for your report documents, and so on.
In the SP server used for this topic, a site was created using the template as shown
in the next screenshot, which you may create immediately after configuring the SP
server. Since reports are documents a Document Center template was adopted. It
could have been a Records Center as well.
