When you want to modify the data in the data source you check it out of SharePoint
and modify the META data of the model in SSDT and deploy it to SSAS. When you
check in again, assuming the connections are all in place you will have the modified
data in the data source. This is schematically shown in the next image:
Creating a Power View report using the data
source
Power View reports can be created in Excel as well, but we will be using the data
source created previously based on a tabular model.
Power View could be created with a tabular model only,
but Microsoft has released a CTP version, which works with
multidimensional models as well; follow this link for details:
