Report Manager calls it a custom data source. The data source type, the connection
string, and the authentication are all present at design time. If you were to display
the report from
Home
there would be no problem. When the creator owner tried to
save it as folder
Main_Feb19
, the program generated an error as the folder did not
have the right permission.
A shared data source
Report Builder cannot create a shared data source, although it can create a report based
on a shared data source on the Report Server. Report Manager can create a shared data
source. In the following hands-on exercise you will be creating a shared data source.

Connect to the Report Manager using its URL (
http://Hodentekwin7/
Reports_Kailua
).
You may need to open with administrator's permission (
Run as
Administrator
).

icon on Report Manager as shown in
