Managing reports
Report Management in Native mode is described comprehensively in
Chapter
4
,
Working with Report Manager
. In
Chapter 6
,
Power View and Reporting Services
,
report management in Reporting Services installed in SharePoint Integrated
mode is described. The following aspects of a published report can be managed
independently from report definition:
• Shared and embedded data sources
• Shared datasets
• Parameters, if changed on the server, authoring clients cannot change
• Image and ESRI* Shape files can be published and managed
* ESRI is the leading worldwide supplier of
Geographic Information
System
(
GIS
) software and geo-database management applications.

The following aspects of published reports can also be managed:
• Use of report cache to schedule large reports to off-peak periods
• Report snapshot for realistic comparisons
• Create report archival history using report snapshots to build a
picture of report data change over time
Report scheduling
Report scheduling can be created and managed from the following modes:
• Report Manager in Native mode
• SharePoint Site Administration pages in SharePoint Integrated mode
However, scheduling is only supported in SQL Server Version Professional or
higher. Review the link,

for details.
In both modes, report delivery can be scheduled in the following ways:
• In a standard subscription, or a data-driven subscription
• To schedule report history so that new snapshots are added to
report history at regular intervals
