model. Once you've read through this section, take the time to
play around and mess with the new tools. There are some
extremely useful ones.
Let's select our handy checkered box and collapse it to an
Editable Poly object. As we no longer need anything in the
stack, let's clear it so we can start clean. After you apply the
modifier, you'll get a new list of options.
Note:
Keep in mind that Max always stores your UVWs, even if
you collapse the model back into an Editable Poly object.
However, don't delete your Unwrap UVW modifier! This
will get rid of your changes. Just remember to collapse it!
This will keep your UVWs if you just need to make a
geometry tweak while you're unwrapping. Just add an
Unwrap UVW modifier again and you'll see your changes
were kept.
The bulk of your time will be spent using the options in the
Parameters rollout of the modifier. Here you can do several
things, including edit, save, and load a set of UVWs. Let's
focus on the big one: editing UVWs! Press the Edit button to
get a whole new window with its own options.
