7.6.1.3 Correction
Team members in this role are responsible for operating the tools and
implementing the techniques required to correct live action imagery and/
or create CG imagery. Team members in this role share the same titles as
team members in the grading role.
7.6.1.4 Creative Direction
All other roles support the creative team by providing imagery that tells
the story with the resources available. Titles of team members in this role
include:
• Director
• Producer
• Executive Producer
• Cinematographer/DP
• Visual Effects Supervisor
7.6.1.5 Technical Operations
The Technical operations team makes sure that all of the visual effects tools
are working properly. Directory structures, naming conventions, encoding,
and transcoding can be part of their daily workload. The TechOps team is
often responsible for creating backups and archives and for looking ahead
to anticipate and eliminate possible data bottlenecks. Titles of team members
in this role include:
• Technical Operations Engineer
• IT Person
7.6.1.6 Project Management
Leading the visual effects team is the person or persons responsible for
pulling all of the elements together. Titles of team members in this role can
include:
• VFX Supervisor
• VFX Producer
Visual effects team issues can cover any or all of the six process areas.
