7.6.1 Teams
The most important single thing you can do to insure that your resources are
spent effectively is to have someone on the VFX team in the stereography
role. Visual effects team roles include:
• Stereography
• Grading
• Correction
• Creative Direction
• Technical Operations
• Project Management
7.6.1.1 Stereography
It is critical to have a person in the stereography role closely involved in the
Visual Effects workl ow. Ideally the stereography role in this workl ow is i lled
by the same person who fuli lls that role in the other workl ows. If it is not the
person needs to be aware of and can articulate the 3D-specii c issues of your
show to the visual effects team. Titles of team members in this role include:
• Stereographer
• 3D Supervisor
• Visual Effects Supervisor
7.6.1.2 Grading
Visual effects teams have grading expertise for each of the tool sets they use to
create and/or composite CG elements. These team members are responsible
for making i nal tweaks to CG imagery so that the imagery lives within the
live action CG world. Titles of team members in this role include:
• Compositor
• CG Artist
• CG Supervisor
• VFX Artist
