CELEBRATION Disneyland Park will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2015.
If the rumors prove to be true, an old favorite may be returning with a bold
new look to commemorate this milestone. The current plan calls for an all-new
version of the Main Street Electrical Parade (which premiered at Disneyland in
June 1972 and then, after running at DCA for nine years, ended its run at the
Disneyland Resort in April 2010). The parade would feature one introductory
float plus six units, each representing a different decade that Disneyland has
been in business, followed by a finale—with each of these units also paying
tribute to a particularly memorable character or design element from the ori-
ginal Main Street Electrical Parade.
ADVENTURELAND
ADVENTURELAND IS THE FIRST “LAND” to the left of Main Street and somehow man-
ages to seamlessly combine South Pacific island, Middle Eastern bazaar, and African
safari themes. Transitions from one part of Adventureland to another feel quite natur-
