Biking
Take a bike out to the desert, over to the coast, or up a mini-
mountain to see Bonaire from a whole new angle. Most of the
coastal roads are flat and have little traffic, so even inexperi-
enced bikers can enjoy the ride. Advanced riders can go off-
road for more adventure. Dutch road bikes and mountain
bikes rent for about $15 per day. Guided tours are priced at around $40 for
a half-day and $65 for a full day. Some of the resorts have bikes and you can
also rent from these Kralendijk shops:

course for bicycles, and a 10-kilometer run through downtown
Kralendijk. For information about this year's event, contact the
Tourism Corporation Bonaire,

ernment Tourist Office,

Shopping
Shopping is great fun on Bonaire. You won't find impressive
bargains on luxury imports, but you can use up your $600
duty-free allowance on scuba gear, souvenir clothing,
beachwear, marine-theme jewelry, and local arts. Most of
the boutiques and jewelry stores are on Kaya Grandi in
