Getting to Bonaire
By Air
If you arrive by air, you will land on Flamingo Interna-
tional Airport's 8,100-foot-long runway. The small, modern
airport (the airport code is BON) is on the west coast, about
five minutes by car from the capital, Kralendijk. Contact the
airport at
717-5600.
You'll find an ATM and car rental offices at the arrival terminal. Maps and
tourist information are available outside the baggage claim area, and
taxis meet all flights.
Several carriers serve the island, and the number and frequency of flights
is increasing. In addition, charter flights are sometimes available, so
check with vacation wholesalers and certified travel agents who specialize
in the Caribbean, then double-check their quotes with a bit of Internet
research before you decide how to travel. With some investigation, you can
uncover great deals, especially during the off-season.
