Data file and cofiles have naming conventions. For example, transport request number
DEVK900032, when released (exported), will create a data file R900032.dev and cofile
K900032.dev. The transport subdirectories listed in Table 11-1 are part of the standard SAP
installation.

tp Internals (Transports and Programs Internals)
The transport control program (tp) coordinates all transport-related activities in the system.
When a developer or a customizing specialist (transport owner) completes his or her work in
the development system, the changes are recorded as change request (transport requests).
The transport owner releases the tasks and then the change request in the development sys-
tem. When a transport is released, the transport control program (tp) executes an export
command and writes a data file and a control file in the common transport directory at the
operating system level. When the transport request is approved to be imported to the quality
assurance system, the Basis administrator receives the transport request number and initiates
