Jeonju's hanok village
Daily Life
Jeonju simply doesn't have the commercial or educational infrastructure to attract massive
numbers of expatriates—foreign businesspeople will find few job opportunities, and famil-
ies will find a lack of schools geared toward non-Korean children. But there is a tight-knit
foreign community of a few thousand here, many of them teachers or students lured by the
city's traditional assets or relaxed feel. The Jeonju Hub Internet site is the best source of
information for new residents to the city and contains a wealth of information on where to
source English-language services. There are clubs for French speakers, soccer players, bas-
ketball enthusiasts, and more, as well as half a dozen or so foreign-oriented restaurants and
bars in the Chonbuk National University area.
Health
English-language care is available at several Jeonju hospitals, including Chonbuk National
University Hospital and Namgang Hospital.
