Intuita V, Váci utca 67; map . Amid the tourist tat at the main market hall end of Váci utca,
this shop stands out for its quality Hungarian pottery and jewellery. Intuita 2, just along the

by local designers, including funky bags and cushion covers decorated with Hungarian rare

treasure-trove of a shop, crammed full of jewellery at the Pest end of the Margit híd - it
is on the left as you walk in from the street. In among the more glitzy costume jewellery
are some stunning Deco-style pieces and good-quality paste. They have a larger shop with
more clothes at the Buda end of the bridge at XII, Frankel Leó 7. Mon-Fri 10am-6pm, Sat
10am-1pm.

Books, toys and accessories by thirty local artisans, such as a delightful design on T-shirts

a lecturer at the Applied Arts College the workshop produces very appealing chunky silver
jewellery at a price: rings from 20,000Ft and earrings from 29,000Ft. Mon-Fri 10am-6pm,

Kultúr Barlang VII, Kertész utca 42-44; map . The “Culture Cave” has one of the best se-
lections of DVDs of Hungarian films around - and next door Laci Bácsi's record shop has
thousands of rock, pop, blues and jazz records. Mon-Fri 11am-6pm.
MesterPorta I, Corvin tér 7 1 4202 3859; map . The outlet for Etnofon Records, one
of the most active publishers of Hungarian and other folk music, has a great range of CDs,
instruments and sheet music. The other half of the shop is given over to folk crafts to fill
your case with pots and embroideries. You'll find it a tram stop down from Batthyány tér.
