ically carved baroque stairway. Across the square, the 13th-century
Iglesia de la
Santa Cruz

was one of the first
churches to be built in Andalucía after the Reconquista, and may be the only
Romanesque church in Andalucía. A block north of Paseo de la Constitución, the
Ayuntamiento
(Paseo del Cardenal Benavides 9)
has a marvellous plateresque
facade.
