dark wood with stunning mullioned windows, is one of the best places in town to try
cordero asado . The upstairs dining room has outstanding food and faultless ser-
vice. Reservations recommended.

With its old-world elegance, Café España Offline map Google map (Calle de Lain
Calvo 12; 10am-11pm) has been a bastion of the Burgos cafe scene for more than
80 years. A pianist plays jazz here at weekends. Other good options include Café

the latter has an artsy vibe and occasional live music.

Getting There & Away
The bus and train stations lie south of the river, in the newer part of town.
BUS From Burgos' bus station (Calle de Miranda 4) regular buses run to major
Spanish cities including Madrid (€16.25, 2¾ hours), Bilbao (€11.86, two hours) and
León (€14.10, 3¾ hours).
