1 PALENCIA
One of the largest Castilian cathedrals, with a treasure trove of religious art and
ornate chapels. One of the most stunning chapels is the Capilla El Sagrario.
2 PLASENCIA
Two cathedrals in one - Gothic and plateresque from the 16th century, and
Romanesque from the 13th century. The Capilla de San Pablo contains the dra-
matic 1569 Caravaggio painting of John the Baptist.
3 ASTORGA
Plateresque on the outside and mainly Gothic on the inside with a stunning al-
tarpiece by 16th-century altarpiece by Gaspar Becerra.
