X-Axis Motor Mount - Part E
The final part that we'll cut and drill in this chapter is the X-Axis Motor Mount, or Part E. For Part E, the
order in which you drill the holes is very important. We're going to first drill pilot holes in specific
locations where counterbore holes will also be drilled. The pilot holes (drilled all the way through Part E)
will help us retain the center point on those holes where a counterbore hole will be placed. A
counterbore hole will often leave a dimple or small mark where the centerpoint of the drill bit eats into
the wood—but not always—so pilot holes will be critical for Part E.
First, take a look at Figure 7-23. This figure shows our Part E with all the holes marked carefully in
pencil.
