Casper offers an abundance of fly shops and guides. A good place to start for a license
and regulations is Wyoming Game and Fish (3030 Energy Ln., Ste. 100, 307/473-3400,
www.gf.state.wy.us ) . For gear or guided trips, contact the Ugly Bug Fly Shop (240 S.
Center St., 307/234-6905, www.crazyrainbow.net ), which has full-day ($425/boat) and
half-day ($325/boat) guided fly-fishing trips. A full-day guided float trip on the Miracle
Mile is $475 per boat. There are substantial discounts in the off-season (Nov.-Mar.) when
the weather can be lousy but the fishing great. The North Platte River Fly Shop (7400
Hwy. 220, 307/237-5997 or 866/548-3474, www.wyomingflyfishing.com ) offers all-day
guided trips in boats ($390 for 2 anglers) or wade-fishing ($350 for 2 anglers). Single
anglers and off-season trips are discounted.
Golf
Casper has 90 holes for avid golfers to play, including a world-class course designed by
Robert Trent Jones Jr. built on an old remediated oil refinery: The Three Crowns Golf
Club (1601 King Blvd., 307/472-7696, www.threecrownsgolfclub.com , mid-May-Sept.
$75 for 18 holes Sat.-Sun., $70 for 18 holes Mon.-Fri., includes golf cart and practice balls)
is a par-72 course that opened in 2005 and has a resort-like feel.
Another course worth playing is the Casper Municipal Golf Course (2120 Allendale
Blvd., 307/223-6620, www.casperwy.gov , $30/18 holes Mon.-Fri., $32/18 holes Sat.-Sun.,
$18/9 holes Mon.-Fri., $20/9 holes Sat.-Sun.), which has 27 holes on three distinct nines.
Opened in 1929, the course is consistently ranked among the best municipal courses in the
state.
For some of the most unique golfing in the state, try the Salt Creek Country Club
& Golf Course (Hwy. 387, Midwest, www.pasturegolf.com ) , which offers nine holes of
mowed prairie grass fairways and sand greens at only $2 per round. Golfers share the course
with antelope, deer, and prairie dogs.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Casper has no shortage of places to stay, and many chain hotel options are available.
The Best Western Ramkota Casper (800 N. Poplar St., 307/266-6000 or 800/528-1234,

(in-room desks, free Wi-Fi, and a business center) and to families with the Castaway
