a classic 1938 Park Service log cabin constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps, the
visitors center is staffed and has a number of interesting geological, natural, and cultural
history exhibits.

The speed limit in the monument is 25 mph. Each year, dozens of wild animals are hit
and killed by cars, and reduced speed can positively impact the number of fatalities.
Do not feed the wildlife. Prairie dogs are especially sensitive and can die from eating
any human food.

33 miles northeast of the I-90 exit at Moorcroft and 27 miles northwest of Sundance. The
monument is 61 miles from Gillette, 131 miles from Buffalo, 309 miles from Cody, and 363
miles from Yellowstone National Park.
While the number of visitors to the monument continues to grow, it is generally not
overcrowded. That changes in August, and be prepared to wait in long entrance lines in
the weeks surrounding the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in nearby Sturgis, South Dakota, each
summer. If you don't like crowds, this is not the time to go to Devils Tower. To check on
