ACCOMMODATIONS

hotel was the first brick building constructed in Red Lodge and dates to 1893. It has played
host to some of the West's most famous legends, including Calamity Jane, Buffalo Bill
Cody, and famed orator William Jennings Bryan. Each of the 39 guest rooms and suites are
individually decorated, more traditional than modern, and can come with mountain views,
jetted tubs, and balconies. All stays include a full breakfast in The Pollard's excellent din-
ing room.

gorgeous canyon at the base of the Beartooth Mountains. The resort sprawls over a 30-acre
site and offers many outdoor activities. The facility has a heated indoor pool, tennis courts,
a soccer field, a fully stocked fish pond, and numerous trails for hiking and biking (along
with bikes for rent). Most guest rooms have impressive views of the mountains, and the
suites come with kitchenettes.
If you want to stay close to downtown Red Lodge without breaking the bank, try the
pet-friendly M Yodeler Motel (601 S. Broadway Ave., 406/446-1435 or 866/446-1435,
www.yodelermotel.com , $59-267). This historic, Swiss-themed chalet, owned by delightful
former guides Mac and Tulsa Dean, is only three blocks from downtown. Remodeled guest
rooms offer nice amenities that include cable TV, free Wi-Fi, jetted tubs, steam showers,
and even a wax room to work on your skis. The rooms on the lower level are more budget-
friendly and do not have balconies like the upper level, but every room is clean, comfort-
able, and well maintained.
