This open-air pavilion, only 25m before
the Hotel Platino and a few kilometers from the Monument, is where groups of friends
roll up after a night of dancing and boozing. A few large-screen TVs tuned to sports and
an extensive menu, which includes tacos (RD$100), burritos (RD$250) and
mofongo
(fried plantains mashed together and mixed with a variety of meats or other fillings;
RD$240).

Long on character and style, Paolo the Italian owner has
been welcoming Santiago's powerful and bohemian since 1995. Curiously decorated with
a range of objets d'art, the restaurant is a reflection of his personality, and the menu of
fresh pasta, meat and seafood is truly satisfying. We enjoyed the salmon carpaccio.

This long-running restaurant serves grilled fish and seafood in an elegant indoor dining
room, breezy outdoor garden or more ordinary, brightly lit back room. Sushi specials
Wednesday nights, live music Fridays, but especially worth planning for is seafood brunch

The casually cool ultra-contemporary design
echoes the menu of inventive pan-Latino fare - or you can go with more simple but above
average burgers and filets. Located on a lively stretch of pavement on the south side of the
Monument.
