In-Depth Information
Dostoevskaya; )
This 31-room hotel at a busy confluence of shopping streets
near the heart of Vladimirskaya is a safe and comfortable good-value place to stay.
The rooms are smartly decorated (even if they're not particularly memorable) and the
service from the English-speaking staff is friendly and efficient. There's also the pop-
ular and cosy restaurant downstairs (where breakfast is served), which, handily, is
open round the clock.

Named after the junction of streets that it overlooks, this stylish
hotel has been refurbished and its lobby is looking better than ever. Its rooms are quite
different: warmer toned and perhaps less design-conscious, but very comfortable all
the same. The on-site restaurant has an equally groovy design that makes it a great
place for breakfast or a nightcap.

You must book ahead to stay in the super-secluded place
located next to the Austrian consulate. It has four rooms - one on each floor - and
they're all good ones. Each is stylishly designed with bright modern furnishings and
kitchenettes. There's a little sauna in the courtyard, and a second similar hotel,

Housed in a fabulous 1903 building, this
well-run option has slanted ceilings, stained-glass windows, ceramic-tile stoves and
ornate mouldings that remember its art deco origins. It's not all stuck in the past,
however. There are satellite TVs and fridges in rooms, and bathrooms are thoroughly
modern. Request a room on the courtyard, as those overlooking busy Suvorovsky pr
can be noisy.
