Despite its
unfortunate name, Fartuk is a beautifully designed place with tiled floors and old-
world-meets-industrial fittings. The crowd here is cool and the menu is interesting:
wok-cooked chicken with ginger and coriander sits next to freshly made bruschetta,
soups and steaks.

The in-house cafe of the super cool
Loft Project ETAGI, you'll find this place on the 3rd floor (from the street go through
turnstile checkpoint and through the courtyard). The centrepiece here is a fantastic
summer terrace, even though there are ridiculously few chairs and tables outside for
some reason. Inside it's an airy, cool cafe space with a menu that's simple, tasty and
excellent value, including filling breakfasts, sandwiches and traditional Russian
dishes such as borsch and
manty
(giant ravioli).

'Happiness' comes in several
forms here: a multiroomed venue full of cosy nooks and crannies to huddle up in, an
expansive and interesting Italian menu, delicious pastries and sweets piled up on
plates around the place, and lavish and thoroughly warm (if somewhat random) decor.

visual treat: the elegant dining room is all white painted floorboards and linen table-
cloths embellished with gorgeous Thai furniture. Quality was good when we ate here,
