Sky drop with Lumion
Sky drop is, perhaps, the effect that needs a very good explanation to be used in
any project. The Sky drop effect does precisely what the name suggests: it lets
objects fall from the sky. The setup of this effect is very simple, as shown in the
following screenshot:
The Offset , Duration , and Spacing settings control when the object appears, the
time it takes to fall, and, finally, the height of the bounce of the object when it hits the
ground. A possible application of this effect is, perhaps, a way to introduce a specific
building, giving a more dynamic touch to the movie.
Animating a section cut with the Near Clip Plane
effect
This next effect is a powerful tool when combined with camera animations. The
reason is because we can cut the geometry and 3D models like a plane and look
inside the buildings. This effect works in the same way as cutting a plane in front
of the camera, and the following screenshot can help us understand how it works:
