Best practices - composition and its importance
This small section serves only as a quick guideline to help us understand what
composition is and how we can apply some of the techniques in our project. Also,
almost everything we will cover here can and must be applied when we are creating
still images with the
Photo
mode. However, why is this subject so important? First,
let's see what composition is.
Composition
Composition can be found in almost every type of art and, in simple terms, can
be described as the way you frame your scene. Composition is the placement or
arrangement of objects and forms in a way that guides the viewer's eye to the subject,
making it attractive and pleasant.
A great way to familiarize yourself with composition is searching for
examples of good composition in photography and cinematography.
Importance of composition
Pointing the camera to an eye-catching element and shooting a photo or recording
a frame doesn't necessarily create a prodigious photo or movie. Things are not so
simple, and this can initially be a great frustration for someone who is just starting
to take the first steps in this area. Why is composition so important?
Not only can we guide the viewer's eye toward the most important elements in the
scene, but likewise, we can also reveal things that the viewer doesn't necessarily
notice in the first instance. The power of composition lies in the fact that we can
transform a trivial and ordinary element into something interesting just because
of the way we arrange it within the frame. Your scene can be extremely interesting,
but the final viewer will only see the contents within a frame, and they need to
recognize and understand what is being shown to them.
Composition is important because it enhances the impact of a scene by creating
compelling images or movies with a natural balance and draw attention to the
important parts of the scene.
